In a surprise move, United States Secretary of State John Kerry met on Thursday with Chief of Staff for Israeli National Security Yossi Cohen, Israel’s NRG reported. The meeting caught lawmakers in Jerusalem unawares, according to the report.
Cohen was meeting with the Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman and discussing with her multiple matters on the daily agenda, when Secretary of State Kerry entered the meeting unexpectedly, and spoke with Cohen. According to lawmakers in Jerusalem, the three spoke about the progress of the nuclear negotiation talks with Iran. Details of the discussion have not been revealed.
Cohen met with Sherman, who heads the US negotiation team on Iran’s nuclear program, ahead of her departure to Geneva for another round of talks.
