London Mayor Caught in Handshake Mixup With Israeli Ambassador (VIDEO)

London Mayor Boris Johnson faced a slightly embarrassing moment when he tried shaking the hand of Israeli Ambassador Daniel Taub.
London Mayor and newly elected Member of Parliament Boris Johnson was caught on video on Sunday in a slightly embarrassing mix up when he tried shaking hands with Israeli Ambassador to the U.K. Daniel Taub.
Johnson stretched out his hand to greet Taub, but the Israeli ambassador seemed not to notice instead turning to shake the hand of Johnson’s wife. In an effort to avoid embarrassment, Johnson instead quickly raised his hand and brushed it through his hair.
The incident was caught on camera and uploaded to Facebook earlier this week.
Johnson and his sister Rachel spent time on a Kibbutz in Israel when they were students some 30 years ago, the Algemeiner previously reported. While visiting the local Jewish community during his last election campaign, the conservative politician, who is serving a second term as London’s mayor, was photographed wearing the famous black fedora of the Chabad chassidic sect.
