Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu phoned President Barack Obama on Tuesday just hours after the announcement of a nuclear deal with Iran to express Israel’s concerns over the consequences of the agreement.
According to Netanyhau’s office, “the prime minister … emphasized two main dangers that arose from a review of the agreement: ultimately, it allows Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons, and this is whether it complies with the agreement for 10 to 15 years or if it breaks [the deal] prior to that.”
Additionally, Netanyhau stressed Israel’s belief that the deal will release billions of dollars to Tehran, fueling the “Iranian terrorist and war regime that threatens Israel and the whole world.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Netanyahu warned that the world was a more dangerous place today than it was yesterday as a result of the nuclear agreement announced by negotiators on Tuesday.
