A New Jersey school was vandalized over the Halloween weekend with an antisemitic image that the principal called “extremely offensive and disturbing,” the Algemeiner has learned.

According to head of the K-12 Dwight-Englewood School, Dr. Rodney V. De Jarnett, the vandals broke into the school’s Solomon Field sometime last night or early this morning and, using shaving cream and eggs, created a swastika alongside the word, “Jewish.”

Members of the school’s girls soccer team arrived for their home game on Sunday morning to find the image, contacted the faculty and cleaned the grass before people began arriving for the match.

Jarnett said police have been notified and received the picture of the vandalism as well. Law enforcement was reviewing the security camera tapes looking for the attackers, and would update the school next week.

Jarnett sent a letter around to the school’s community and included the photograph of the vandalism for transparency and because the photograph had already been uploaded to social media.

“We embrace our diversity at the School and continue to work hard to ensure each of us can be authentic in our diversity, that our community celebrates our diversity and that we each learn more from our experiences at D-E because of our diversity,” the letter said. “An incident like this can be challenging for our students to understand and we will be talking more about this next week in school. An incident like this also confirms for me why living in our community is so special and unique. For me, I treasure my work at D-E even more.”
