Three Israelis were wounded, two critically, in a multiple stabbing attack in the coastal plain city of Rishon LeZion on Monday afternoon.
According to Israel’s Channel 10, the terrorist, who was subsequently apprehended by police, began his rampage on a bus, stabbing one person. He then got off the bus near the city’s Central Bus Station, and managed to stab two more people as he ran through the throngs on Rehov Herzl, a main street of the city.
Magen David Adom said that all three victims — an 80-year-old woman, a 40-year-old man and a 20-year-old man — were treated on the scene and evacuated to the nearby Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center.
Dozens of other people are being treated for shock.
As part of his stabbing spree, the terrorist entered a clothing shop, where a saleswoman managed to lock him in a back room until the arrival of police. Police then interrogated him in the store — keeping angry mobs outside at bay — before taking him away in a squad car.
The terrorist has been identified as a 19-year-old from Hebron.
