A virulently anti-American exhibit went on display in Tehran on Wednesday as part of Iran’s “National Day of Fight Against Global Arrogance,” the regime aligned Tasnim News Agency reported.
The exhibit, sponsored by the “House of Islamic Revolution Designers,” featured various posters with images of Americans committing all kinds of crimes, such as abusing detainees in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, and an African-American man being burned at the stake by a member of the KKK.
According to Tasnim, hundreds of thousands of Iranians, mostly high school and university students, held rallies across the country expressing their enmity towards all of Iran’s opponents, but “particularly the US.”
Demonstrators in Tehran, the report said, burned US flags and called the United States the “Great Satan,” while chanting “Death to America.”
November 4 in Iran marks “National Day of Fight Against Global Arrogance,” commemorating the takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran by a group of revolutionary Iranian students belonging to the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam [Khomeini’s] Line. Fifty-two of the embassy’s staff members were held hostage for 444 days, enduring abuse and mock executions.
