JNS.org – A Palestinian terrorist who tried to stab an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier at the Gush Etzion junction in Judea and Samaria was shot dead on Thursday by the Israeli army.
No soldiers were injured in the incident. The soldier who shot the terrorist said that while his unit was “guarding the Gush Etzion junction, we noticed a suspect. We called on him to come across the street to where we were. When he arrived, he pulled out a knife to stab a friend that was with me. At that moment, I cocked my weapon and shot him.”
In recent days, the IDF has doubled the number of units patrolling the junction area.
“We are preparing for this wave of terrorism to become prolonged, and we are preparing for the potential of an escalation,” an IDF source told the Jerusalem Post. “We are adjusting the way we activate forces to deal with knife attacks.”
