JNS.org – Frazier Glenn Miller, Jr. was sentenced to death on Wednesday for his April 2014 shootings near the Jewish Community Center and the Village Shalom retirement facility in Overland Park, Kansas.
Johnson County District Judge Kelly Ryan followed the recommendation of a jury that in September found Miller guilty of capital murder and recommended the death penalty for the shootings.
“Your attempt to bring hate into this community and terrorize this community has failed,” Ryan said, the Kansas City Star reported. “You have failed, Mr. Miller.”
Miller, a white supremacist with a history of involvement with the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party, represented himself during his trial and stated that he “wanted to kill Jews, not people,” in reference to the murders of William Corporon, Reat Griffin Underwood, and Terri LaManno. None of the three victims, however, were Jewish.
