The commander of the Iranian military warned that Tehran would deal a rapid and crushing blow to the US if it made any hostile moves, semi-official Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Major General Ataollah Salehi said that Iran would destroy the US and its supporters by foiling their plots and defeating their forces in the region. The American “supporters” in question include ISIS, which Tehran claims is a proxy of the US and Israel.
“The creation of terrorists is the enemies’ last ditch effort; the ISIL is the latest US-made hireling which has been created with the plots and under the supervision of the Zionist regime and stupidity of certain countries which have been deceived,” Salehi said, adding that, “the Army and the Armed Forces will not hesitate to give a crushing response to anyone who gives a dirty look to this country.”
He stressed that the failure of the United States or its proxies to act against Iran so far has been due to their fear of the might of the Iranian army.
