Israeli Invention Takes Top Spot in Advocacy Group’s List of 2015’s Top 10 Most Viral Stories (VIDEO)

A number of stories about Israel and Jews set social media alight in 2015.
This according to the US-based Israel advocacy group The Israel Project (TIP), which released a list over the weekend of its top 10 most viral Facebook posts of the year.
Taking the number 1 spot on the list is a video about an Israeli device that helps people rappel down the side of buildings in case of a fire or other emergency. The product, called SkySaver, was inspired by the 9/11 terrorist attack, and those who died while trapped on the top floors of the World Trade Center with no way to escape. The Facebook post about the Israeli device reached 27 million social media users and attracted 10.1 million video views, TIP revealed in a statement.
The second most popular post included footage of late Jewish actor Leonard Nimoy. In an interview, Nimoy explains the Jewish story behind the Vulcan salute he created for his role as Spock in Star Trek. TIP said Nimoy’s interview reached 19 million social media users and attracted 6.25 million video views.
Rounding off the top 10 list was a video post showing Arab-Israeli reporter Lucy Aharish railing against incitement by Palestinian leaders.
