A video posted Sunday on Facebook shows militia men in Burns, Oregon using shofars (ram horns played by Jews on the high holidays) to call on Christians to stand with them as they occupy a wildlife refuge in a standoff with the federal government, Gawker reported.
The 43-second video shows two men standing in the snow blowing the shofars. The clip was posted online by Blaine Cooper, who refers to the Jewish instrument as a “battle trumpet.”
“Christians, the battle trumpet has been sounded; time to rise!” he captioned the video. “Call to action, send in the troops to stand with us in Burns, Oregon.”
A group of armed and mainly white militia men are occupying the Malheur national wildlife refuge, a federally owned building in Burns, the Guardian reported. The group said they are fighting the US government over federal regulations of public lands.
