The Egyptian military destroyed tunnels used for the smuggling of contraband into the Gaza Strip, the Saudi-owned pan-Arab outlet Al Arabiya reported on Wednesday.
Brigadier General Mohamed Samir, the spokesperson of the Egyptian Armed Forces, said that two new tunnels were discovered near Rafah, on the Egypt-Gaza border. The tunnels were then destroyed by the Second Field Army’s Border Guard and the military’s Engineer Corps.
