Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders pretended to be a Jewish immigrant heading to America in a skit on Saturday Night Live this week.
Sanders appeared alongside Seinfeld creator Larry David, who was hosting SNL this weekend in the Titantic-themed sketch. David, playing a passenger on a sinking ship, proclaims he should be loaded onto a lifeboat before the women and children, while Sanders’ character jokes about changing his name — Bernie Sanderswitzki — when he gets to America, “so it doesn’t sound quite so Jewish.”
“Yeah, that’ll trick ’em,” David replied, eliciting laughter and applause from the audience.
Sanders then asks David if he’d like to share a cab once they arrive in New York, to which the latter replies, “I think we’ve talked enough.”
