A PR firm apologized to the UK’s Jewish Chronicle this week for sending the newspaper a press release about pork pies.

KR Public Relations sent an email to various publications, including the Jewish paper, about British Pie Week, mentioning one manufacturer in particular that sells “your dream pork pie flavor combination.” The email, which was first highlighted by The Huffington Post, went on to list different pie flavors.

After Jewish Chronicle Editor Stephen Pollard and staff members pointed out the error in sending a Jewish publication a notice relating to a non-kosher item, the PR firm apologized for the mistake.

A spokesperson for the firm said in an email, “While that press release was due to be issued, the compilation of the press list was a training exercise and unfortunately, on this occasion, led to a few people being left on the list that the press release was not intended for.”

“We can only apologize moving forward and please be rest assured that this will not happen again,” the spokesperson added.
