Politico – Secretary of State John Kerry said in an interview aired Sunday that talk among Republican presidential candidates about banning Muslim immigrants, sending police to Muslim neighborhoods and bringing back waterboarding in interrogations is “an embarrassment to our country,” based on his discussions with foreign officials.
Asked on CBS’ “Face the Nation” about the impact of the campaign rhetoric overseas, the country’s top diplomat and former Democratic presidential nominee said the talk “upsets people’s sense of equilibrium about our steadiness, about our reliability.”
