Another honoree at the 2015 ceremony on Mount Herzl for Israel’s Independence Day was Marta Weinstock-Rosin, the Israeli inventor of Exelon, a drug that improves memory and slows its decline in subjects with Alzheimer’s disease.
Weinstock-Rosen, a recent Israel Prize recipient, believes that medical science can help people live longer and better-quality lives. “It’s sad to see someone who is afflicted with a disease like Alzheimer’s,” Weinstock-Rosin told The Times of Israel.
There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s; Exelon is widely considered one of the more effective treatments for the disease.
