Founder of Jewish Community Watch
Meyer Seewald is the founder of Jewish Community Watch, an organization dedicated to the prevention of child sexual abuse within the Jewish community. The group has been noted for its controversial “wall of shame,” which publicizes the names of people who are proven abusers.
The organization also focuses on abuse prevention through education and awareness; locates individuals thought to have abused children; and warns local communities of their presence.
In a March 2016 Newsweek article, former Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes praised JCW after having earlier given it an award for “exposing child predators” and “creating change in the tight-knit Hasidic community in Brooklyn.”
