CNN commentator Kayleigh McEnany rejected the idea that Donald Trump’s call to prevent Muslim immigrants from entering the United States without investigating them is tantamount to a ban on the entry of Jews into the country.
Participating in a debate with New York magazine’s Andrew Sullivan on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” on Monday, McEnany said, “We don’t have a problem with Jewish people right now. We have a problem with radical Islam.”
She was responding to Cooper’s interjection on behalf of Sullivan’s argument, posing the question, “So… if a candidate was saying, ‘Don’t allow Jewish people in the country,’ would that be acceptable?”
When Cooper then referred to the 1995 assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin by stating, “Well, there are extremist Jews who’ve committed acts of terrorism against Israeli leaders,” McEnany shot back: “They’re not living in four countries and targeting the United State to kill Americans.”
