JNS.org – After presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) dropped out of the Republican primary race to the White House in the wake of a major loss in Tuesday’s primary election in Indiana, businessman Donald Trump has become the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party against the Democratic Party’s presumptive candidate Hillary Clinton, who continues leading by delegates despite a loss in Indiana against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)
“It is a beautiful thing to watch, and a beautiful thing to behold,” Trump said during his Indiana victory speech on Tuesday. “We are going to make America great again,” he said.
Trump’s likely clinching of the Republican nomination also comes a day after Trump went against an earlier campaign assertion that he will remain “neutral” on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in order to make a good deal by telling the Daily Mail that “Israel was never properly treated” by the U.S. “I would love to see if peace could be negotiated,” he said.
Trump also expressed support for Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria, and for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Trump called “a very good guy.”
“I think President Obama has been extremely bad to Israel,” and Obama’s brokered nuclear deal with Iran was also “a disaster for Israel,” he also said.
Trump also questioned why Israel is expected to put up with rockets being shot at its civilians by the terror group Hamas from Gaza.
“Who would put up with that? Who would stand for it?” he asked.
