Israeli-born basketball star Omri Casspi of the Sacramento Kings took a delegation of NBA players and celebrities to visit Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, in Israel on Friday.
Among those who visited the museum with Casspi were former NBA player Shawn Marion and WNBA forward Mistie Bass, who posted on Twitter after the tour, “Why do people honestly believe that never happened? it was a heavy visit.”
The group of celebrities and athletes arrived in Israel on Thursday as part of a trip organized by the Omri Casspi Foundation. Participants included: “Entourage” actor Jeremy Piven, NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire, UFC champion Georges St. Pierre and top-ranked poker player Maria Ho. The group will tour locations across Israel and meet on Sunday with hundreds of children in the mixed Arab-Jewish city of Ramle, The Times of Israel reported.
Casspi organized his first celebrity visit to the Jewish state last year. He brought with him seven NBA players, including teammates DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Caron Butler.
