eBay to Purchase Israeli Startup for $30 Million

JNS.org – An innovative Israeli startup was recently acquired for a cool $30 million, according to a statement released on Thursday.
Corrigon, a Tel Aviv-based visual search technologies developer founded in 2008 by Avinoam Omer and Einar Itamar, was purchased by the e-commerce giant eBay, whose vice president and general manager of structured data, Amit Menipaz, explained, “Corrigon’s technology and expertise will help buyers find the best results when shopping on eBay through experiences that were not possible a year ago…”
Corrigon CEO and co-founder Omer said his company “will help eBay sellers list more efficiently and eBay buyers find what they are looking for faster in order to increase customer sales conversions.”
This is the second Israeli company eBay has purchased this year. The first was SalesPredict, a company that uses advanced analytics to predict buying and sales patterns of customers, which it bought for $40 million.
