Comedic actress Amy Schumer took to social media this week to thank an admirer who catcalled at her as she was on her way to synagogue on Monday for Rosh Hashanah services.
Schumer, who was raised as a Jew by her Jewish father and Protestant mother, was in the midst of filming a holiday video with a friend, as they made their their way to temple in New York City when she heard a man whistle. “Thanks,” she said to the stranger, adding, “Shana tova, [Happy Jewish New Year].” A clip of the incident was later posted on Instagram.
