JNS.org — British rocker Roger Waters has suffered a large financial setback for his major upcoming North America tour over his views on Israel, according to the New York Post.
The former Pink Floyd bassist has reportedly lost the sponsorship of American Express, amounting to millions, for his 2017 “US + Them” musical events.
“Roger is putting on a huge show,” a source at American Express told the Post. “The company was asked to sponsor his tour for $4 million, but pulled out because it did not want to be part of his anti-Israel rhetoric.”
Waters has been one of the most vocal figures behind the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and often pressures other musicians artists to refuse to perform in Israel.
