A Florida boy’s mock run for president was the theme of his bar mitzvah party last month.

Andrew Weisz was the star “candidate” at the Oct. 15 event, which took place at The Club at Ibis in West Palm Beach and included impersonators of Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Uncle Sam — holding a sign that read, “I want you to vote for Drew!”

During his “keynote address” to the 250 people in attendance, Weisz said, “Looking at the other candidates, how much worse can I be?” He added that if he is elected to the high office one day, he promises to make “American-Israeli relationships stronger than ever before.”

“Andrew for President!” and “Make Bar Mitzvahs Great Again” became the party’s slogans, according to Weisz’s father, Peter, who posted a video of scenes from his son’s coming-of-age celebration.

The clip shows the invitation, in the form of a “delegate packet,” asking guests to join Andrew at the “2016 Bar Mitzvah Party National Convention.” The packet included a fake ballot, a “Meet the Candidate” pamphlet describing the bar mitzvah boy as a “leader, scholar and man of the people,” a campaign button saying, “I, too, like Drew” and a request for donations to Andrew’s “super-pac” — organizations for which he did volunteer work as part of his Bar Mitzvah project.

Weisz told the Palm Beach Daily News that though he has no particular interest in politics, he chose a presidential campaign theme for his event because of its proximity to Election Day. “I just thought it would be cool,” he said.

The “Bar Mitzvah of the Millennium,” as the event was titled, was what Rabbi Leonid Feldman of Temple Beth El in West Palm Beach, where Andrew led services on Friday night and Saturday morning, called “one of the most unusual bar mitzvah celebrations” he has ever encountered.

“It was literally like a convention,” he said.
