New Israeli Gadget Allows Coca-Cola Lovers to Snap Selfie While Downing Bubbly Drink
by Shiryn Ghermezian
A new gadget which allows thirsty soda consumers to snap photos of themselves while drinking has been developed by a Tel Aviv advertising agency for Coca-Cola Israel, the blog Israellycool.com reported Wednesday.
The Gefen Team agency created the “Selfie Bottle” by attaching a plastic camera to the base of a half-liter soda bottle, and setting it to snap a picture every time the bottle hits a 70-degree angle.
The appliance was launched for the Coca-Cola Summer Love festival, which is Israel’s largest outdoor branding event. All pictures taken with the product will be automatically shared to Coca-Cola’s Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook pages.
In a statement, the Gefen Team said the product “really does the trick and makes the partygoers more present and active during the event, knowing they can share their special moments just by drinking.”
Gefen has collaborated with Coca-Cola numerous times in the past, according to The Drum. In 2013, the Israeli company developed a “social robot” that gave teenagers the opportunity to remotely attend the Summer Love festival.
