JNS.org – Israeli security forces at the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem foiled a terrorist attack Friday morning.
The attacker was arrested and no injuries were reported among the Israeli troops.
According to details available at the time of publication, a Palestinian woman arrived at the checkpoint on foot, then entered the vehicle lane and began approaching the troops while trying to conceal an object held in her hand. The troops called on the woman to stop, but she continued to advance towards them. She drew a knife, at which point the troops fired in her direction.
The woman sustained minor injuries to her leg and was taken to a nearby hospital.
A similar attack at the Qalandiya checkpoint — a frequent target of terrorists — was foiled on Nov. 23.
