Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency has launched its first female-targeted recruitment drive, the Hebrew news site Ynet reported on Tuesday.
In ads published this week — including on its own website — the Mossad said it was looking for “powerful women” to work for it.
“It’s not what you’ve done, it’s who you are,” the ads said. “The Mossad is recruiting case officers with special character traits.”
According to Ynet, 40% of current Mossad employees are women and 24% of the organization’s senior roles are filled by females.
Last week, Ynet reported, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad chief Yossi Cohen awarded certificates of excellence to 12 Mossad employees — six of whom were women.
