Ahead of their White House meeting on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu exchanged warm greetings on social media.
Netanyahu — who arrived in Washington, DC on Monday — kicked off the social media exchange on Tuesday, tweeting, “Looking forward to meeting President Trump tomorrow.”

On Wednesday morning — just hours ahead of the Israeli leader’s arrival at the White House — Trump replied, “Looking forward as well Prime Minister @Netanyahu.”

After dining with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday evening, the prime minister tweeted, “Excellent meeting… The US-Israel alliance has always been strong, and it’s about to get stronger.”

Two former Israeli ambassadors to the US — Michael Oren and Danny Ayalon — told The Algemeiner on Tuesday that Iran would be at the top of the agenda at the Trump-Netanyahu meeting.
Before departing Israel for the US on Monday, Netanyahu said, “I’m going to Washington to have a very important meeting with President Trump. I’ll also be meeting with Vice President Pence, with Secretary of State Tillerson and with Republican leaders and Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill.”
“The alliance between Israel and America has always been extremely strong,” he continued. “It’s about to get even stronger. President Trump and I see eye to eye on the dangers emanating from the region but also on the opportunities. And we’ll talk about both, as well as upgrading the relations between Israel and the United States in many, many fields.”
