Around 5,000 people got down and dirty on Friday during Israel’s first-ever “Mud Day” race in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park, Channel 2 reported.
Participants sloshed their way through a 13-kilometer long course featuring 22 obstacles.
The inaugural “Mud Day” race occurred in Paris in 2013. Since then, races — put on by the Amaury Sport Organization — have also been held in Belgium, Spain and Switzerland.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai tweeted a photo of himself with French Ambassador to Israel Hélène Le Gal at Friday’s event.
