JNS.org – Israel recently arrested a Hamas agent who allegedly worked as a recruiter in Judea and Samaria for the Gaza-ruling Palestinian terror organization, the Shin Bet security agency announced Wednesday.
Malak Nazar Yousseff Kazmar, 23, was arrested two months ago in a joint operation conducted by the Shin Bet and the IDF. According to the Shin Bet, Kazmar admitted during an interrogation he was recruited by Hamas in Jordan in 2015, and was subsequently sent to a terror training camp in Syria last year. At the training camp, the terrorist learned how to use weapons and produce explosive devices.
Prior to returning to Judea and Samaria in January, Kazmar met in Turkey with Hamas agents, who ordered him to recruit additional Hamas operatives living in Israel.
In his interrogation, Kazmar also surrendered an encrypted memory card containing detailed security guidelines and sensitive intelligence intended to assist him with implementing terror activities in Israel.
The Shin Bet and IDF apprehended the terrorist upon his return to Judea and Samaria, before he could carry out Hamas’s plans. Kazmar was indicted March 30 for several security offenses.
