JNS.org – A terrorist commander from Hamas, Ibrahim Hussein Abu al-Naja, was killed on Wednesday night in what the Gaza-ruling group described as an “accidental” explosion.
The explosion occurred near one of the Palestinian terror group’s outposts close to the southern Gaza city of Rafah, and injured three other terrorists, the Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported.
Hamas described al-Naja as a prominent leader within the organization and provided no details regarding the cause of the explosion.
Several similar purported operational mishaps have occurred in Gaza in recent months. Three Hamas terrorists were injured April 3 in an explosion near Rafah, in what the terror group called a training “accident.” Two Hamas terrorists were injured April 26 in another explosion in Gaza.
Last year, 22 Hamas terrorists were killed in a series of tunnel collapses when digging beneath the border with Israel to launch terror attacks inside the Jewish state, and to smuggle weapons into Gaza.
