Top Tehran regime officials are propagating anti-Israel rhetoric ahead of the annual Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day events that will be held in Iran this Friday.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani — according to the semi-official state news agency Mehr — said this week, “It has been 70 years now that the people of the region, especially the people of Palestine and the neighboring countries are suffering from aggression by the occupying Zionist regime. The issue of Palestine can never be forgotten, despite all attempts by the Zionist regime.”
“Today, the Zionists’ overt and covert intervention can be seen in almost every dispute among countries of the region,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan was quoted by Mehr on Wednesday as saying, “A world free of violence and extremism is parallel to a world free from the Zionist regime, a motto which will be broadcasted by the Islamic world on [Al-Quds Day]. Today, roots of troubles, violence and insecurities in the Muslim world, as well as the whole world, can be traced in the fake and brutal Zionist regime and the US as its main sponsor.”
On Tuesday, Ramezan Sharif — described as the “head of the Intifada and Quds Center at Iran’s Islamic Propagation Coordination Council” — asserted that the “Zionist regime” was fated for “nothing but collapse,” the Tehran regime-aligned news agency Tasnim reported.
