The Israeli public is “very concerned” about the lifting — in the face of Arab pressure — of security measures that were put in place at the Temple Mount following a recent terrorist attack there, the editor-in-chief of The Algemeiner said during an i24 News interview on Wednesday.
Israelis, Dovid Efune noted, “are wondering, ‘Why do they want these measures removed?’ They’re seeing it as a silent, or not-so-silent support, for the acts that are going to be enabled if these measures are removed — for the terror acts and for the ability to conduct terror acts.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now must seek to “come up with a solution that is going to solve the problem, keep the site safe and, hopefully, reduce tensions at the same time,” Efune went on to say.
