Netanyahu Hosts Conan O’Brien at His Home for Meal and Conversation About Dog Food
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hosted American late night talk show host Conan O’Brien at his home on Monday for a meal and a chat about dog treats.
In a video posted on Netanyahu’s official Twitter account, the duo fed cucumbers to the prime minister’s dog, Kaya. O’Brien told Netanyahu, “No American dog is satisfied with a cucumber…If you try to give an American dog a cucumber, he would punch you.” The Israeli premier cracked his own joke by saying that his white dog was “paler than” the comedian.
O’Brien is currently in Israel filming an episode of his Conan Without Borders television show.
In a separate video posted on Twitter on Sunday, Netanyahu pretends not to know who O’Brien is, and tells the cameraman to let him know when Stephen Colbert arrives in Israel. After he’s informed that O’Brien has 25 million Twitter followers, the prime minister changes his mood and exuberantly greets “Conan, my friend!”
