JNS.org – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to institute a tradition of awarding commendations of merit to the Israeli Mossad’s intelligence and special operations teams.
For the first time, such honors will be awarded not by Israel’s president, but rather by the prime minister, with Mossad Director Yossi Cohen in attendance.
The commendations will be awarded to six Mossad teams for operations carried out this past year, all in secret and across the globe.
During his years in office, Netanyahu has increased the Mossad’s budget, allowing it to widen its operations and its use of cutting-edge technology.
