Fates of Disgraced Hollywood Mogul Harvey Weinstein’s Planned Projects, Including Film About Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Remain Unclear Amid Scandal

Harvey Weinstein’s slew of planned upcoming films may be affected by the sexual harassment-and-assault scandal surrounding the disgraced producer and movie mogul, the New York Post‘s Page Six reported this week.
Weinstein was set to make his solo directorial debut with “Mila 18,” an adaptation of Leon Uris’ acclaimed novel on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943. In August, Weinstein — who lost eight great aunts and uncles in the Holocaust — said Uris’ book “inspired” him and the story was about “the triumph of a few Jewish rebels (men and women) who think they’re going to die and instead defeat thousands of German soldiers in the ghetto.”
The film executive was recently fired from The Weinstein Company — which he co-founded in 2005 — following sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape allegations made against him by numerous women. He is currently in a rehab facility in Arizona, and questions about what will happen with “Mila 18″ and the movie production company’s other projects remain unanswered.
“Harvey’s name is toxic now,” one Hollywood veteran told Page Six. “No one wants to be associated with him.” The Weinstein Company declined a Page Six request for a comment.
