Rapper Drake Holds Bar Mitzvah-Themed Birthday Party in Hollywood, Complete With Arcade Games, Candy Station and Photo Booth
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Rapper Drake celebrated his 31st birthday with a bar mitzvah-themed party in Los Angeles on Monday.
The half-Jewish, Toronto-born singer — whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham — held the party at the West Hollywood nightclub Poppy, where guests drank out of cups that had “Aubrey’s re-bar mitzvah” printed on them. Pizza was served from custom boxes with Drake’s picture on them and the label “Papi’s Pizzeria” — a reference to the “One Dance” singer’s nickname, Champagne Papi.
There was also a “bar mitzvah board” — filled with baby pictures of the rapper and messages from people wishing him a happy birthday — arcade games, a basketball photo booth, an ice hockey dance floor and a singing performance by the rapper’s father. A source told Us Weekly there was also a “make your own candy bag” area — typical at bar mitzvahs — and monitors inside the club featured videos and photos of a young Drake playing on repeat.
Celebrities who attended the celebration included Leonardo DiCaprio, Usain Bolt, Hailey Baldwin, Jamie Foxx, Tobey Maguire, G-Eazy, Lamar Odom, Odell Beckham Jr. and Kelly Rowland.
