British Rocker Boy George Dons Star of David Outfit During Tel Aviv Concert, Blasts BDS Supporters

Music icon Boy George and his band started a world tour with a performance in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, which marked their first concert in the Jewish state in 30 years.
The British rocker performed a segment of the show at Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena in a bright yellow outfit, adorned with Star of Davids, and a matching yellow hat. He was joined on stage by three other original members of the band Culture Club and also performed a duet with Israeli singer Dana International.
Boy George said his band faced “abuse” for performing in Israel and one band member even refused to accompany them on the trip and play in the country. Still, he told the audience, “I love it here and it’s always a pleasure to be here!” He added, “There is such a mad vibe in this country.”
“Whenever I go to Israel, people always say don’t go there, don’t go there. ‘F–k off, I go where I want!” he exclaimed. “We are here to perform miracles.”
Following the concert, Boy George shared on Twitter positive messages from social media users thanking him for performing in Israel and not succumbing to pressure for supporters of the boycott divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, who harassed him for agreeing to perform in the country.
Earlier in the day, the singer defended himself against attacks by BDS activists. When one Twitter user said he was “disappointed” in Boy George and urged him to join the BDS movement, the British rockstar replied, “I’m disappointed by your tweet. Also by the fact that you are actually doing zero to help anyone or anything? Your energy is negative!”
