JNS.org – The Israeli Foreign Ministry has reportedly instructed the Jewish state’s envoys to launch a global diplomatic campaign against Iran and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, and in support of Saudi Arabia and its allies.
Israel’s Channel 10 reported on Wednesday that the Foreign Ministry dispatched a classified cable to Israeli diplomats, instructing them to immediately contact government representatives in the countries where they are based, and to present the case against Iran and its terror proxy.
The directive comes after Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s sudden resignation last Saturday over fear of an Iranian-led assassination plot, and amid domestic and international turbulence in Saudi Arabia.
A missile was fired from Yemen toward the Saudi capital of Riyadh last weekend in what Saudi Arabia’s government described as “an Iranian missile launched by Hezbollah” and a potential “act of war.”
“The events in Lebanon, and the ballistic missile launched by Houthis toward the Riyadh international airport, should cause [the world] to increase the pressure on Iran and Hezbollah on a range of issues, from ballistic missile production to its efforts at regional subversion,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry cable reportedly stated.
“At the request of the director-general you are asked to urgently contact foreign ministries and additional relevant entities at the government level and to stress that Hariri’s resignation and his comments on the reasons that led him to resign illustrate yet again the destructive character of Iran and Hezbollah, and their danger to Lebanon’s stability and the countries in the region,” the memo said.
