The two Israeli “Yamam” police commandos who were wounded in a shootout with Palestinian terrorists in the West Bank city of Jenin last week were released from Rambam Medical Center in Haifa on Monday.
The two fighters — one of whom had been initially categorized as seriously wounded — took part in last Wednesday night’s operation that targeted the Hamas terrorist cell responsible for the Jan. 9 drive-by shooting attack near Nablus in which 35-year-old Rabbi Raziel Shevach, a father of six from Havat Gilad, was murdered.
One terrorist was killed in the Jenin raid, while another was arrested.
Israel Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh visited the wounded commandos on Sunday and told them, according to the Hebrew news site Mako, “On behalf of all the citizens of Israel, I salute you.”
