by Shiryn Ghermezian
Israeli NBA player Omri Casspi taught one of his teammates about the Jewish dietary laws of kashrut during a guest appearance on his colleague’s YouTube show earlier this month.
Speaking with Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee on his YouTube show “Parking Lot Chronicles,” Casspi’s responded to McGee’s request for him to explain the rules of keeping kosher.
The Warriors forward, whom McGee called his “Jewish kosher brother,” then discussed adhering to the strict rules of kashrut with his family and the symbols that mark something as kosher. Toward the end of the interview, first highlighted by Jewish Insider, he also touched upon the topic of Israel.
