JNS.org – In a rare display of Israeli and Jewish unity, more than a dozen Israel-based organizations have come together to raise funds to support a diverse mix of projects that will impact citizens from across the spectrum.
Called “I am Israel,” the groups—organized by CauseMatch and Israel365—range from schools to media to new efforts to bring the Jews of Ethiopia to Israel.
“This diversity and unity, this mosaic of passions and shared idealism, is what makes Israel such an incredible place,” said Joseph Bornstein, CEO and founder of CauseMatch. “When selecting participants, the two main factors we considered are quality of work and diversity. We want to showcase the incredible range of nonprofits that help build a stronger and more vibrant Israel.”
The projects are presented on the CauseMatch crowdfunding platform together, but each have their own individual pages and fundraising goals.
“In a time when there are so many reports about lack of connection to Israel among younger Jews and a widening gap between Jews in Israel and the Diaspora, CauseMatch and Israel365 hope this new way to donate to Israel will give millennials a window into the level of diversity that exists in the Jewish state,” said Shlomo Schreibman, vice president of Business Development for Israel365.
Bornstein said that for the “I Am Israel” campaign, CauseMatch is beta-testing a high-tech, customized donation-tracking dashboard. Organizations will open their own crowdfunding pages and let donors choose those causes that most speak to them.
“For the first time, a select group of donors will be able to log in, track their donations, explore giving history and have our platform’s AI automatically recommend new causes based-on their profile,” he explained. “The system’s AI also analyzes donor’s behavior and giving patterns to provide proactive recommendations to nonprofits about how they can better communicate their impact and inspire their donor base.”
