JNS.org – A Muslim terrorist tied to the Islamic State plotted to storm Downing Street and kill British Prime Minister Theresa May, according to arguments heard in a London court on Tuesday.
According to prosecution statements in England’s Old Bailey central criminal court, 20-year-old Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman, who was arrested in November, told an undercover security service agent over the Telegram messaging app, “I want to do a suicide bomb on parliament. I want to attempt to kill Theresa May,” continuing that his “objective” was “nothing less than the death of the leaders of parliament.”
He told the undercover officer that he planned to sprint to the door of the Prime Minister’s Office and decapitate May.
The prosecution told the court that Rahman carried out reconnaissance around the entrance to Downing Street and provided a backpack to the undercover officer to load with explosives.
Rahman also recorded a sponsorship video for his friend, Mohammad Aqib Imran, to join the Islamic State in Syria.
Imran pleaded not guilty to possessing the terror manual “How to Survive in the West: A Mujahid’s Guide 2015” and to planning acts of terror.
