Israeli Celebrities Fawn Over Prince William During His Visit to Country

During Prince William’s stay in Israel this week he was greeted by Israeli supermodel Bar Rafaeli and Eurovision winner and Israeli singer Netta Barzilai.
The Duke of Cambridge met Rafaeli on Monday night at a garden party, hosted by British ambassador to Israel David Quarrey at his private home. After speaking with the prince, Rafaeli said, “He is very, very charming. I think both he and his brother are good looking. But he is the best looking prince in the world.”
On Wednesday, Prince William met Barzilai to take a walk on Tel Aviv’s Rothschild Boulevard. The prince specifically asked to meet the Eurovision winner during his Middle East tour, according to BBC, and the two discussed mental health and diversity during their time together.
“We talked about the way I changed how people feel here in Israel, and about self-esteem,” the singer, 25, told BBC. “And how positivity and setting a good example for people is really making a difference. It was amazing. He’s a really, really chill guy.”
Barzilai gave the prince one of the “looping machines” she uses to create her songs. She said, “I wanted to give him a taste of my world. So I gave him this machine which allows him to loop his voice and to create music with no instruments.” She added that she hoped the prince would use the gift and perhaps it may lead to a royal entry at next year’s Eurovision, which is set to take place in Israel.
The singer also offered to give Prince William singing lessons, according to the Daily Mail, but the he did not think it was a good idea. He told Barzilai during their walk, “You want me to be a singer? You haven’t heard me sing — you wouldn’t want that!”
Prince William’s five-day visit to the Middle East — including Israel, the Palestinian territories and Jordan — began on Sunday. The Duke of Cambridge held talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah also on Wednesday. The prince is the first member of the royal family to make an official visit to Israel.
