Israeli Eurovision Winner Netta Barzilai Laments Her Country’s ‘Bad PR’

Israeli singer and Eurovision winner Netta Barziali talked about Israel’s lack of positive promotion in the world in a recent interview with The Associated Press.
“Israel is amazing. We have amazing people,” the “Toy” singer said. “We are very warm and vibrant, and we have good values…[but] we have such bad PR (public relations) in the world.”
The 25-year-old also said she was happy that her victory in the 2018 Eurovision contest has made Israelis proud.
Barzilai made her US television debut on Tuesday with a performance of “Toy” on NBC‘s “Today Show.”
She said on the morning show that “Toy” was inspired by the Me Too movement, which was established to help survivors of sexual violence and draw awareness to sexual harassment and assault.
Barzilai’s victory in the Eurovision contest was the first time that Israel won the song competition since 1998, and the fourth time in history.
