The IDF Paratroopers Brigade recently held a drill simulating the airborne drop of forces behind enemy lines, the Hebrew news site Mako reported.

While Israeli troops last parachuted into battle in 1956, the capability to do so remains as relevant as ever, the report noted.

“This exercise represents the peak of the process of maintaining operational readiness in the world of parachuting,” battalion commander Lt. Col. Mordy Weiss was quoted as saying.
