JNS.org – The Israel Defense Forces has uncovered a second Hezbollah terror tunnel reaching from Lebanon to Israel, according to a Saturday report.
According to IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, the new tunnel reaches Israel but it “does not pose an imminent threat to Israeli communities.”
He said explosives have been put at the entrance of the tunnel to prevent infiltration into Israel.
Earlier on Saturday, IDF troops operating near the border fired at three suspected Hezbollah terrorists who approached them in accordance with the rules of engagement.
Conricus added that the army installed technological sensors to control the tunnel, and that the Hezbollah operatives were likely trying to attack the sensors, but escaped after Israeli forces opened fire at them.
