The British newspaper The Guardian is facing criticism for a headline it chose for an article it published on Thursday about events in the West Bank over the past two days.
The article — headlined “Two Israelis and two Palestinians killed in West Bank violence” — detailed the shooting attack on Thursday morning at a bus stop near the entrance to Givat Asaf, in which two Israelis were killed, as well as the deaths of two Palestinian terror suspects in separate shootouts with IDF troops in other locations over the past 24 hours.
The headline drew scrutiny on social media, with Hillel Neuer — head of the Geneva-based NGO UN Watch — writing, “the @Guardian is equating today’s terrorist murder of two Israelis with killing of ‘two Palestinians’ — the terrorists who murdered the baby Amiad Ish-Ran on Sunday, the other who murdered 29-year-old Kim Yehezkel & Ziv Hajbi, 35, in October.”

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon tweeted, “The @guardian @guardiannews has refused to change this deliberately misleading article headline. @guardian — by presenting on purpose the victims and the perpetrators on equal footing you encourage violence. This is unacceptable.”
