JNS.org – Russia has reportedly told Lebanon to stop Hezbollah tunnels dug to infiltrate and attack Israel.
A message was sent by the Russians to the Lebanese that the tunnels violate UN Security Council Resolution 1701, according to London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper. The resolution calls for an end to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
Russia backed Israel’s “Operation Northern Shield” to destroy the Hezbollah tunnels, though it warned against violating the resolution.
Israel has so far eliminated four cross-border tunnels belonging to the terrorist group.
