JNS.org – Amid the rise of antisemitism in Europe and the rest of the world, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon met in New York City on Tuesday with ambassadors from the European Union and called on them to combat Jew-hatred.
“A radical and hate-filled minority wants to lead Europe into a dark and troubling era, and it is our moral duty at this time is to join forces and act together against modern-day antisemitism,” said Danon. “Israel stresses to these governments the need to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism, which provides a moral and ethical compass.”
He also noted that “anti-hate education should be increased from an early age, and antisemitic messages should be monitored in social networks.”
“The fight against antisemitism is a struggle for the very future of Europe,” he said.
